-  Ardgour -

Travelling down the road from Fort William, where we had planned to stop until we had a look at it, we saw houses on the opposite side of the lake. Then we saw a ferry sign. We tried to get a room at the small guest house by the ferry but there was no reply so we wandered down to look at the boat. One of the ferrymen, they were all very friendly, told us we could travel over on foot at no charge so we did, just for fun. At the top of the pier we found on old inn and what a find. They gave us lunch at 3.30 in the afternoon and it was fantastic. The haggis was the best I tasted in Scotland. Eventually we returned over the ferry, but only to fetch our car. We had three wonderful nights at The Inn of Ardgour, the high spot of our holiday.
