Given the climate, it follows
that one should never be without a raincoat or a warm sweater, but on the other hand you
should never be without light clothes for those warm spells that Scotland can often get in
Summer.
The standard dress for the
standard Scot is the same as in most other countries, just plain old jeans and T-shirt or
sweater.
For those attracted to the
excellent opportunities for hill-walking and rock-climbing it is essential to come
properly prepared. In the hills and mountains the weather can change very quickly. Each
year people suffer serious and needless injuries through setting out without adequate
equipment. The Highlands are no place to go on a serious hill walk in a T-shirt and Jeans.
