Most shops in Scotland stay
open from 9am to 5:30pm with some shops in the larger towns and cities opening until late
on Thursday evenings. In the smaller towns there is often an early closing day, usually on
a Wednesday. Very few towns in Scotland are without a " wee shop " which
stays open at all hours and can provide food and drink and assorted necessities.
