A
valid passport is needed to enter the UK. Visitors from the European Union (EU), the
United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand do not require visas to enter the UK, nor
any inoculations or vaccinations. Once within the UK, visitors are free to travel to and
from Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland without passing any other frontier
formalities.
When you arrive at
any international air or sea port in the UK; you will find separate queues at immigration
control: one for EU nationals and several others for everyone else. Scotland is a member
of the EU, which means that anyone arriving from the EU member country can pass through a
blue channel. Random checks are still made, however, for illegal goods, especially drugs.
